Saken Zhasuzakov 

Saken Zhasuzakov Adilkhanovich was born on October 25, 1957, in Chaldar village, South Kazakhstan region. In 1978, he graduated from Almaty Higher Military Command School. He passed all stages of military service - from lieutenant to general, making a worthy contribution to the development of the Armed Forces of the Republic, as well as to the strengthening of the defense capability of independent Kazakhstan.

From September 1987 to June 1990, he was a student of the military academy named after M.V Frunze, then held the position of chief of staff - deputy head of the Civil Defense of Alatau district, Almaty city.

In July 1994, he entered the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.

In 1996, after graduating from the academy, he was Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He headed the Operational Planning Department and then served as Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan on operative work, after - Chief of Staff of the Army Corps, and later - the commander of Mobile forces.

In September 2003, he was appointed Chief of Staff - First Deputy Commander of Land Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Then became - the commander of the Regional Command "East".

Since April 2007 - the first deputy chairman of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of Defense of Kazakhstan.

In April 2009, by the order of the Head of State was appointedas  the Chief of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since March 2010, the First Deputy Minister of Defense - Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From January 2013 - First Deputy Minister of Defence - Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

September 13, 2016, by presidential decree  was appointed as Minister of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

He has awards of the "Red Star," "For Service to Motherland in the USSR Armed Forces" III of degree, "Dank" II of degree, "St. Alexander Nevsky" II of degree and 21 medals - the anniversary and for the excellent service.

From October 1981 to October 1983, he committed in the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan.

In 1993-1994, he served in peacekeeping mission in Tajikistan.
