Today in the Italian city of Verona, with the participation of NC "Kazakh Invest", the X Eurasian Economic Forum on the topic "Greater Eurasia as a driving force in the current international geopolitical and economic context" began.

This year representatives of Kazakhstan took part in the work of the Forum for the first time. Acting Chairman of the Board of NC "Kazakh Invest" Birzhan Kaneshev spoke about the prospects of investing in the economy of Kazakhstan, as well as the work of the national company to attract foreign investment and support investors.

"Kazakhstan is the link between the largest markets of Eurasia. Kazakhstan's membership in the EAEU provides additional opportunities for investors to enter the market with more than 180 million consumers," Birzhan Kaneshev said.

B. Kaneshev especially noted the possibilities of ten Special Economic Zones (SEZ) of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which have already become a center for attracting international investment in the country. SEZs provide unique privileges for investors, such as central and regional support, special tax and customs regimes, ready infrastructure and simplified rules for hiring foreign employees.

It should be noted that this year delegates from Greece, France, China, South Korea, Latin America, Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries came to participate in the 10th Eurasian Economic Forum. The platform was attended by political and public figures, diplomats, experts, managers of large companies such as Gazprom, Novatek, DEPA, SACE, Pirelli, TechnipFMC, etc. In total, there are over a thousand participants.

Alessandro Cassiere, Head of the Radio and Television Bureau (RAI) in Paris, Federico Sboarina, Mayor of Verona, Maria Elene Boschi, the Secretary of State under the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Andrey Akimov, Chairman of the Board of Gazprombank, as well as Antonio Fallico, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banca Intesa.

The first day of the event was also attended by President of the Foundation for International Cooperation, former Prime Minister of Italy, Romano Prodi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rosneft, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, ENI President Emma Marchegalia, CEFC China Energy Executive Director Jung Lee, Glencore International Chief Executive Officer Ivan Glasenberg, Trafigura CEO Jeremy Weir, CEO of Saipem Stefano Cao, Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Hirofumi Katase, as well as the Minister for Petroleum and Mines of Venezuela Eulogio Del Pino.

The main topics to be raised at the Forum are: development of relations between the EU and the EAEU, prospects for the energy sector in Eurasia, financial flows in the international geopolitical context, development of transport and infrastructure, and interregional economic cooperation. In addition, panel sessions on innovation and the potential of digital technologies for the economic development of Eurasia are organized within the framework of the Forum.
