Askar Mamin proposes to strengthen investment activity in EAEU

Askar Mamin took part in a video conference meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

The Head of Government noted the need to increase the volume and stability of trade in the Eurasian Economic Union and beyond, which requires expanding the list of countries with which the EAEU has agreements on a free trade zone.

The prime minister stressed the importance of strengthening work to build the internal potential of investment activities within the EAEU.

“The Eurasian Development Bank should play a primary role in this process, the main goal of which is to promote the economic growth of the EAEU member states and expand trade and economic ties through investment activities,” Mamin said.

The head of government proposed introducing a mandatory quantitative and qualitative assessment of the impact of all decisions taken in the EAEU on business development, budget expenditures of the EAEU countries and improvement of economic indicators in general.

The meeting participants considered the Strategic Directions for the Development of Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025, the Rules for Determining the Country of Origin of Certain Types of Goods for the Purposes of State (Municipal) Procurement, the List of Exceptions and Restrictions on the EAEU Internal Market to be Eliminated in 2021-2022, Issues of a Unified Customs Tariff regulation, as well as the Action Plan to ensure the functioning of a single market for services in the field of construction within the EAEU.
