Askar Mamin instructs to increase rate of vaccination in western regions

At the government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country was considered.

Minister of Healthcare Aleksey Tsoy, akims of Nur-Sultan Altay Kulginov, West Kazakhstan region — Gali Iskaliev, Atyrau region — Makhambet Dosmukhambetov, Mangystau region — Serikbay Trumov reported on the current progress of vaccination.

The sanitary and epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan is changing. The incidence of COVID-19 is on the rise. The growth of the delta strain of coronavirus is recorded in Almaty and other regions. The virus reproductive index has increased to 1.2, the occupancy of infectious beds is 27%, intensive care — 24%.

The red zone in terms of the spread of coronavirus, along with the city of Nur-Sultan, includes the city of Almaty, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan and Karaganda regions. In the yellow zone — 5 regions: Shymkent, Akmola, Aktobe, Kostanay and Mangystau regions. The remaining 7 regions are in the green zone.

To date, about 3.3 million people have been vaccinated with the first component, almost 2 million people — with the second component.

The Prime Minister noted that restrictive measures should be in place in all regions of the red zone, the work of monitoring groups has been strengthened, the readiness of reserve infectious beds, the sufficiency of medicines and medical devices has been ensured.

“Akims need to increase the rate of vaccination, especially in Mangystau, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan regions. The need to introduce compulsory vaccination in labor collectives, in the spheres of services and education is obvious,” Mamin said.
