First Deputy Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov chaired a regular meeting of the working group on the development of the cryptoindustry and blockchain technologies in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Within the framework of the meeting, some issues of the implementation of a pilot project on banking services for crypto-exchanges at the site of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) were considered. The implementation of the project will provide additional tax revenues to the country's budget, new jobs, as well as improve national legislation in terms of regulating the activities of cryptocurrency exchanges and make cryptocurrency flows transparent for their regulation.

To date, a number of banks in Kazakhstan have expressed interest in participating in the pilot project. Following the meeting, Smailov instructed to accelerate the development of the Rules for the functioning of crypto-exchanges in the AIFC for interaction with second-tier banks.
