As part of the execution of the instructions of the Head of State, Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov held a meeting on geological exploration.

At present, an area of ​​about 1 million 324 thousand square km is provided for granting the right to subsoil use in the country. The State Subsoil Fund Management Program includes 1 million 65 thousand square km, it is necessary to include another 259 thousand square km.

In order to attract investment in exploration, development of unused deposits, it is planned to open the entire accessible territory of the country for subsoil use.

As of Feb. 1, 2022, 31 contracts were terminated in Kazakhstan due to improper performance and 101 field development licenses were terminated. Currently, the analysis of the fulfillment of contractual obligations of subsoil users continues — contracts for which the identified violations have not been eliminated will be terminated and put up for auction to attract new investments.

The Prime Minister instructed to speed up a large-scale audit in the field of subsoil use and determine a specific list of unused deposits.
