Topical issues of construction industry and housing considered at regular meeting of Operational Headquarters for Anti-Crisis Measures

On March 17, 2022, a regular meeting of the Operational Headquarters for anti-crisis measures was held in the Government under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov. Issues on the development of the construction industry were discussed at the meeting.

Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Kairbek Uskenbayev informed that this year Kazakhstan is expected to build 15.1 million square meters of housing. 492 billion tenge will be allocated for the implementation of housing projects and concessional lending, and 1.4 trillion tenge for the development of engineering and transport infrastructure.

It was also noted that there is a stabilization of prices for building materials, especially for fittings, the cost decreased by 3%, gas block by 3%, glass by 17.6%.

Together with the business community, operational and systematic measures are being developed in terms of public procurement and the development of commercial housing.

The main emphasis is placed on the consideration of the mechanism of administration of construction processes (issuance of building permits, architectural and planning assignments and approval of the draft design) and other topical issues.

The next meeting of the Operational Headquarters will take place on March 21.
