Addressing the forum participants, the Prime Minister noted the importance of the topics of the current forum.
"Indeed, a unique process of transition to a new model of the global energy market is starting before our eyes. We support the idea of the importance of ensuring sustainable energy development through establishing the balance between economic development and the preservation of the planet's ecosystem," he said.
Bakytzhan Sagintayev also said that the legacy of Expo-2017 will give impetus to the development of the world energy system and the formation of new models for the sustainable development of global energy.
The Prime Minister expressed the readiness of the Government of Kazakhstan for cooperation in the field of sustainable energy, and also urged the forum delegates to constructive dialogue and joint search for solutions to energy challenges.
Also, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Arkady Dvorkovich, the former President of Iceland Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, Minister of Energy of the United Arab Emirates Suhail Mohammed Al Mazroui, the Minister of Petroleum and Mines of Venezuela Eulogio del Pino and the Managing Director of the Astana International Financial Centre Kairat Kelimbetov were at the plenary session.
It should be reminded that the XI Kazenergy Eurasian Forum is being held in Astana two days, from September 7 to September 8. The program of the forum is aimed at discussion by world energy companies of issues and problems related to the effective management of sustainable energy sources; control over the production, storage and use of energy resources; access to energy sources; climate change and reduction of carbon dioxide emissions; stimulating the use of alternative energy sources; implementation of energy efficiency programs, etc. Within the framework of the forum, plenary and program sections, a set of sub-forums, including scientific and practical conferences, roundtable discussions, an innovative school, a youth forum and a meeting of the women's energy club were held.
