Issues of technical regulation in trade considered by Operational Headquarters for Anti-Crisis Measures

Today Nur-Sultan hosted a regular meeting of the Operational Headquarters for Anti-Crisis Measures chaired by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov.

The participants of the meeting discussed measures of technical regulation in trade in the current conditions. In particular, representatives of the business community proposed to temporarily cancel the requirements of the legislation on attaching labels and inserts in the state and Russian languages in relation to imported goods.

According to the participants of the meeting, the adoption of such a decision can significantly reduce business costs associated with the development, replication and attachment of labels.

As an alternative, it is proposed to temporarily use commodity QR codes on the shelves containing all the necessary information about the goods.

In their proposal, representatives of the business community were guided by the provisions of Presidential Decree No. 286 dated March 20, 2020, which allows the Head of State to give instructions or adopt acts establishing a different regulation procedure, including within the framework of state control, compliance with international obligations and etc.

The Prime Minister supported the initiative of representatives of domestic business and instructed to prepare a draft of the relevant Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as submit it to the Head of State for consideration by the end of this week.

The next meeting of the Operational Headquarters will be held on March 24, 2022.
