Proportion of roads in good and satisfactory condition to be increased to 95% by 2025 — Makhambet Dosmukhambetov

At the government session chaired by the Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov, comprehensive plans for the socio-economic development of the western regions were considered. Akim of the region Makhambet Dosmukhambetov spoke about how the plan is being implemented in the Atyrau region.

Akim of Atyrau Region Makhambet Dosmukhambetov noted that the revised draft of the Comprehensive Plan was agreed with the Ministry of National Economy and all central state bodies. As a result, the draft Comprehensive Plan, taking into account the adjustment, includes the implementation of 185 measures for a total amount of 8.9 trillion tenge. Of these, 535.8 billion tenge — from the republican budget, 112.6 billion tenge — from the local budget, 8.3 trillion tenge from other sources, and 14.3 billion tenge — from PPP.

“185 events are planned in 15 areas, namely, in the direction of economic development, which includes industry, agriculture and fisheries, tourism and business development, covers 78 events totaling 8 trillion tenge. 66 events totaling 728.8 billion tenge cover such areas as housing construction, gas supply and electricity supply, water supply, transport infrastructure and ecology,” the regional akim said.

For the implementation of measures in the social sphere, employment, as well as civil protection, 41 events are planned for a total of 223.8 billion tenge. The implementation of activities planned for 2022 requires 98 billion 900 million tenge from the republican budget, of which the approved amount in the budget is 31 billion 900 million tenge. With the allocation of planned funds from the budget, by the end of 2025, the following indicators are expected to be achieved:

- an increase in the gross agricultural output of the region by 11% or up to 96 billion tenge;

- in small and medium-sized businesses, an increase in the number of operating entities up to 55 thousand, the share of business in GRP — up to 25%;

- coverage of the population with wastewater treatment in Atyrau — up to 90%;

- increasing the share of roads in good and satisfactory condition — up to 95%;

- for new projects, it is planned to additionally attract investments in fixed assets in the amount of 8.3 trillion tenge, while it is important to note that the main return on investments implemented under the KPI will be received within 10-15 years, since they are of a long-term nature;

- 40,000 new jobs created as part of ongoing projects will help maintain stability in the labor market and provide employment for citizens.
