Growth of processing industry for 10 months of 2017 reached 5,2% — A. Aidarbayev

Today during the press conference in the Government, First Vice Minister for Investments and Development, Alik Aidarbayev told how the objectives of the Head of State on the accelerated technological update with introduction of the Industry 4.0 elements are being implemented.

Thus, according to him, as a result of implementation of the State Program of Industrial-Innovative Development for 2015-2017, the improvement of processing industry is ensured and the contribution is made to economic development.

“For 10 months of this year, the growth in processing industry amounted to 5,2% and it has been registered in all the priority sectors of the five-year plan,” Alik Aidarbayev said.

Labor productivity for 6 months of 2017 reached $14,5 thousand. Exports of processed production for 8 months of 2017 grew by 23% and reached $9,9 billion.

The speaker emphasized that from the beginning of the year, the MID RK has been conducting the active work on transition to the Industry 4.0. The analysis of the production sector concerning its readiness for the transition to the Industry 4.0 has been held, to this end, more than 600 enterprises of processing industry or mining and metallurgical complex have been studied. Results of the research have shown that in processing industry, nearly 20% of enterprises have the sufficient technological, organizational and staff foundation to advance to the next level and introduce the technologies of Industry 4.0. In the mining sector, the figures demonstrate around 40%.

At the same time, the appropriate systematic measures have been taken for simulation of business to introduce the innovations.

To popularize the introduction of the Industry 4.0 technologies and assist the business in implementation of digital projects, model digital factories will be built, which will become the demonstration sites for digital technologies. Till the end of the year, enterprises for pilot realization of the project will be selected. On their basis, digitization roadmaps are to be developed.

In conclusion, the Vice Minister noted that measures that are being taken for encouraging the transition of the Kazakh industry to the Industry 4.0 will contribute to the reaching of advanced growth rates of the economy and joining the 30 most developed countries.
