Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin held a meeting in the Digital Office of the Government with the participation of heads of central state bodies and regional akims on price regulation for socially significant food products.

Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov, Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev, First Deputy Chair of the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition Rustam Akhmetov, Akims of Nur-Sultan Altay Kulginov, East Kazakhstan region — Danial Akhmetov, North Kazakhstan region — Kumar Aksakalov, Kyzylorda region — Gulshara Abdykalikova, Pavlodar region — Abylkair Skakov, Almaty region — Kanat Bozumbayev and others reported on the current prices and the work in this area.

Over the past week in Kazakhstan, prices for socially important food products decreased by 0.1%. A decrease was recorded in the Turkistan region by 0.6%, in the capital by 0.3%, in Shymkent and Mangystau region by 0.2%, in Almaty and Karaganda region by 0.1%.

The decline in prices for vegetable products in the republic as a whole continues. Prices for the rest of the products are stable.

In 2021, 769.3 thousand tons of products were contracted, incl. 684 thousand tons of soft wheat. Currently delivered 559 thousand tons or 72.7% of the contracted volume.

To date, the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition has sent 113 notifications to market entities, conducted 16 investigations, concluded 192 acts of antimonopoly compliance on reducing the trade markup from 15% to 10% with manufacturers, wholesale suppliers and retail chains. 75 facts of excess of the trade mark-up were revealed.

From Dec. 10, 2021, the Association of Egg Producers of Kazakhstan has reduced prices for chicken eggs in all poultry farms of the republic by 16% — from 37 tenge to 32-31 tenge apiece.

The Prime Minister instructed the central state and local executive bodies to continue work to stabilize and reduce prices for socially significant food products by using all existing instruments.
