Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov instructs to ensure strict compliance with sanitary requirements

At the government session chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country was considered.

Minister of Healthcare Azhar Giniyat reported on the deterioration of the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country.

In accordance with previous forecasts, a sharp increase in the incidence of coronavirus infection is observed in all regions. Since the beginning of the year, the incidence has increased 21 times. All regions are in the red zone, except for the Turkistan region, which is in the yellow zone.

The largest number of cases per day are registered in the capital, Almaty, Karaganda and Atyrau regions.

The Head of Government instructed to strictly control the sanitary and epidemiological situation in all regions, ensuring the strict implementation of additional restrictive measures that were taken by the Interdepartmental Commission to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus.

“The main preventive measures — wearing masks, maintaining social distance — must be strictly observed. People should understand that the less they comply with sanitary requirements, the higher the incidence,” Smailov said.

The Prime Minister instructed to intensify the work of monitoring groups, prevent large crowds of people and isolate the sick in a timely manner.

The Ministry of Healthcare and akimats were instructed to deploy an additional bed fund in case of an increase in hospitalization of patients.

Regions with a low level of PCR testing, in particular Almaty, East Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Kostanay and Turkistan regions, were instructed to increase their number.

“There was no improvement in the rate of revaccination in the capital, Almaty, Shymkent cities, as well as in the Atyrau, Turkistan, Almaty, Kyzylorda and Mangystau regions. It means that the akims are not working on this issue. Therefore, the indicated regions should speed up this work,” Smailov said.
