The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Romania Daulet Batrashev met with the Chair of the Committee for Foreign Policy of the Senate of Romania, Cristian Dumitrescu in Bucharest. During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral Kazakh-Romanian relations and, first of all, the intensification of interparliamentary diplomacy in the light of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in the current year (July 15).

The negotiations were attended by Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament, Florin Iordache and Director General of the Romanian Senate for Cooperation with Foreign Parliaments Christian Busia.

The Kazakh diplomat briefed Romanian parliamentarians on the main aspects of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev's Address to the People of Kazakhstan "The Third Modernization of Kazakhstan: Global Competitiveness", as well as the implementation of the "100 concrete steps" implemented by the Nation Plan on the implementation of the five institutional reforms of the Head of State.

In turn, the Romanian side informed that on April 10 of this year, the Parliament of Romania ratified the Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Union, signed in Astana on December 21, 2015.

According to K. Dumitrescu, the new basic agreement between Kazakhstan and the European Union opens new prospects for trade and economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and Romania and will contribute to the further development of the political dialogue.
