Prime Minister of Kazakhstan instructs to ensure high-quality functioning of information systems of the Ministry of Finance

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov held a meeting of the Government, during which the issue of improving customs administration was considered. The Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerulan Zhamaubayev presented a report.

The Head of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted that the discrepancy between customs statistics and China has been reduced by 20% over the past 4 years. To date, the Ministry of Finance has updated cost indicators for more than 5,000 commodity items.

The Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov instructed to work out the issue of legislative strengthening of the requirements for the activities of authorized economic operators.

The pandemic and related restrictions have caused traffic congestion at the Kazakh-Chinese border.

In order to resume the work of temporarily closed checkpoints, an agreement was reached with the Chinese side in addition to the functioning Nur Zholy, Bakhty and Dostyk checkpoints to resume from Feb. 15, 2022, the operation of the Maikapchagay checkpoint.

Today, the country is carrying out large-scale work on the digitalization of customs administration. The measures taken should help optimize the process of customs administration, facilitate doing business in customs procedures, while ensuring the completeness of payment of customs duties and taxes to the budget.

Smailov instructed to ensure the high-quality functioning of the information systems Astana-1 and Single Window.

Today, 100% of customs declarations are submitted remotely. More than 4 million customs declarations have been issued, of which 82% – automatically in 1 minute. To date, about 5 thousand users have been registered and 15 integrations with government agencies have been implemented.
