Government continues to work on bringing order to access roads

First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar held a regular meeting on tariffs for access roads services.

Government is systematically working to determine the objective cost of such services.

Thus, in the course of the analysis, the authorized bodies identified 86 subjects of natural monopolies, for which appropriate measures will be taken regarding the reliability of the cost of these services.

As a result of the measures taken, the tariffs of a number of subjects were reduced. For example, the cost of services for Knauf (a manufacturer of building materials in the Almaty region) and Kazchrome JSC (a ferrochromium producer in the Aktobe region) has been reduced from 2,117.98 tenge wagon/km to 147.3 tenge wagon/km.

These measures will have a positive effect on transportation costs and the final cost of the products of these companies.

Earlier it was reported that from Feb. 1, 2022, tariffs were reduced for 21 entities providing services for the provision of access roads in a number of regions of the country (Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Kyzylorda, West Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Almaty, Pavlodar, Akmola, Karaganda, East Kazakhstan, Aktobe and North Kazakhstan regions).

The work of the Government in this direction will be continued.
