Prime Minister Askar Mamin attends the opening of oil factory in Almaty Region

In the course of his working trip to the Almaty region, Prime Minister Askar Mamin, together with President of PJSC Lukoil Vagit Alekperov, attended the opening ceremony of the lubricants production plant of the Lukoil Lubricants Central Asia LLP in the Ili region.

In his welcoming speech, the Head of Government noted that the opening of the Lukoil plant in Kazakhstan, which has today invested $9.5 billion in the hydrocarbon sector, corresponds to the current vector of development of the country's oil and gas industry, namely, the transition from raw materials to the production of advanced processing .

The plant's capacity is 100 thousand tons of products per year – over 800 types of oils. The production is designed to provide lubricants for the domestic market of Kazakhstan and the countries of Central Asia, as well as China, Afghanistan and Mongolia. Logistics processes can be optimized by the Western Europe – Western China highway in the immediate vicinity of the plant.

The total investment in the construction and equipment of the enterprise amounted to $94 million. The project was implemented in strict accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and international law in the field of industrial safety, labor protection and environmental protection.

In the presence of the prime minister, PJSC Lukoil and JSC NC KazMunayGas signed an agreement “On Joint Field Exploration in the Territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
