Roman Sklyar meets with Ambassador of China Zhang Xiao

First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar met with Ambassador of China to Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao. During the meeting, topical issues of bilateral cooperation and interaction were discussed.

The Kazakh side expressed interest in supplying organic agricultural products to the Chinese market. The parties noted the significant potential in the implementation of new joint projects in the field of clean energy, green development and IT technologies. A thorough exchange of views also took place on the situation with cargo transportation and regular air traffic between the two countries.

Roman Sklyar congratulated Zhang Xiao on the upcoming Chinese New Year, as well as on the upcoming XXIV Winter Olympic Games in Beijing in February 2022 and wished successful holding of this significant event.

Zhang Xiao noted that cooperation with Kazakhstan is one of the priorities in China's foreign policy. The ambassador said that, being a close neighbor and friend of Kazakhstan, despite any risks and challenges, China remains a reliable partner and is ready to provide the Kazakh side with the necessary support and assistance.

Relations between the two countries are based on close constructive dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation. Close cooperation between the two countries has been established within the framework of such international structures as the UN, SCO and CICA.

Over 30 years of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and China, the strategic partnership has reached a new level, all border issues have been finally settled, and a solid legal framework has been created.

China remains one of the largest foreign trade and investment partners of Kazakhstan, whose trade turnover for 11 months of 2021 amounted to $17 billion.

The parties continue to develop trade, investment and cooperation in large projects, fully implementing the strategic partnership and benefiting the peoples of the two states.
