In first ten days of April 2017, a special Chinese agency will come to Kazakhstan to inspect the food safety system and processing enterprises for mutton, said Vice Minister of Agriculture Gulmira Isayeva at the press conference in the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the visit of the Minister of Agriculture A. Myrzakhmetov to China, the Chinese side confirmed its readiness to speed up the negotiation process on issues related to sanitary, veterinary and phytosanitary measures, certification and accreditation of Kazakhstani products and agricultural enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Thus, the application of Kazakhstan was considered out of turn in priority order. At the same time, the General Directorate for Supervision, Control and Inspection of the Quarantine of the People's Republic of China decided to combine two stages of the inspection - the inspection of the food safety system with the inspection of processing enterprises for mutton - one to reduce the licensing procedures.

This work is a necessary step to start the agricultural products supply from Kazakhstan to the People's Republic of China. It is aimed at removing restrictions and gaining access to the Chinese market in accordance with the current requirements of the authorized bodies of China.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with Atameken and local executive bodies conducted a reconciliation of all operating enterprises, explanatory work with them, assisted them in processing applications.

"Of course, it is impossible to check all enterprises within the framework of one inspection, but an assessment will be made oт the food safety system as a whole. The main thing is that now, through joint efforts, this inspection is successfully conducted in order to show the potential of our country," G. Isayeva said.

In the future, the Ministry of Agriculture plans to obtain the right to independently include enterprises in the register for the products supply to China.

"We hope that we will be able to agree with the veterinary service of China that, either under the guarantee of our veterinary service, or after recognizing the results of the audit of our system, we could get the right to certify and include in the register of enterprises of our country in order that they could export to China. This mechanism is in force in our country with other countries: for example, this mechanism is registered in the framework of the EEU," Vice Minister said.
