Meeting on regulating prices for socially significant food products held in Government Digital Office

First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov chaired a meeting on the regulation of prices for socially significant food products.

Over the past week, a decrease in prices was recorded in three regions of the country — Nur-Sultan, West Kazakhstan region and Kyzylorda region.

The greatest growth was found in the Turkistan region and Almaty.

The rise in prices is observed for cabbage — 0.7%, buckwheat, kefir — by 0.4%, milk, salt — by 0.3%.

As the First Deputy Prime Minister Smailov noted, taking into account the upcoming holidays, it is necessary to strengthen the work of akimats to monitor prices, to form stabilization funds and to work with retail chains.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan is working to restrict the export of live cattle and vegetables in order to prevent shortages in the domestic market and stabilize prices.

The Ministry of Agriculture is carrying out daily monitoring and analysis of the current situation in the domestic market before the restrictions come into force.

“The regions need to activate the work of the regional commissions on the analysis of pricing and intermediary chains and to ensure the stability of prices for socially significant food products,” Smailov noted.

According to the information of the antimonopoly authority, since the beginning of the year, 111 notifications have been issued against manufacturers and wholesalers, 16 investigations have been appointed, 20 orders to eliminate violations, 11 warnings, 186 acts of antimonopoly compliance have been concluded with manufacturers, wholesale suppliers and retail chains, 75 cases of excess of trade allowances over 15% were found.
