Upon arrival in Almaty, in the evening, on October 23, the Prime Minister got acquainted with the plan of complex modernization of the city airport. It is worth noting that the air harbor has an advantageous geographical location between Southeast Asia and Europe, which opens up opportunities for increasing the transit potential of the entire region.
Today about 40 airlines, including freight, carry out more than 150 flights a day from Almaty airport. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to expand the transit zones and passenger terminal departure halls, which will increase the volume of passenger and freight traffic.
After that, the Prime Minister held a meeting with the heads of second-tier banks and major players in the country's financial sector.
During the meeting, the participants discussed a number of the most topical issues, among them are the Roadmap for the Development of Electronic Commerce in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2018-2020, the Asset Management of the Pension Fund and the Mandatory Medical Insurance Fund, as well as digital identification of individuals, development of the stock market and issues of development of the insurance market in conditions of digitalization.
The meeting was addressed by the acting Chairman of the Board of the Association of Financiers of Kazakhstan, Yuliya Yakupbaeva, Chairman of the Board of Halyk Bank, Umut Shayakhmetova, Chairman of the Board of ForteBank, Magzhan Auezov, Chairman of the Board of Sberbank of Kazakhstan, Alexander Kamalov, Chairman of the Board of Tsesnabank, Yerzhan Tadjiyakov, Chairman of the Board of BankCenterCredit, Galim Khusainov, Chairman of the Board of SkyBridgeInvest investment company, Sholpan Ainabayeva, RBK Bank Board of Directors member, Anvar Saidenov, Chairman of the Board of Eurasian Bank, Pavel Loginov, and Director General of the Association of Insurers of Kazakhstan, Vitaly Veryovkin.
Within the framework of the working visit of Prime Minister, on October 24, a number of activities have also been planned, including participation in the forum "OECD Eurasia Week 2017: Open markets for co-prosperity", a meeting of the Regional Council of the Atameken Chamber of Entrepreneurs on the development of small and medium business, familiarization with the work of social infrastructure facilities, production enterprises and plans for the development of the city's transport system.
It should be noted that Bakytzhan Sagintayev is in Almaty within the framework of working trips to the regions of the country. Previously, visits to West Kazakhstan, Aktobe, East Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda, Almaty, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Karaganda, Akmola, Atyrau and South-Kazakhstan region have been held.
