For 11 months of 2020, 78.5 million tons of oil and condensate or 101% of plan produced in Kazakhstan — Ministry of Energy

At the government session chaired by Prime Minister Askar Mamin, Minister of Energy Nurlan Nogayev reported on the fuel and energy sector, following the results of January-November 2020.

The volume of oil and condensate production for the specified period amounted to 78.5 million tons, or 101% of the plan for 11 months of this year.

In particular, the indicators for large companies in the oil and gas industry are as follows:

TCO produced 24.3 million tons of oil over the specified period, which corresponds to 100% of the plan.

The volume of oil production at NCOC is 13.9 million tons, that is, the plan for January-November is 100% fulfilled.

KPO's indicator is 11.07 million tons, compared to the plan, the figure was 104%.

Nogayev informed that the 12th OPEC+ conference was held on Dec. 3, at which plans to limit production for 2021 were discussed.

“Following the meeting, a decision was made to gradually increase the supply of oil from January of the current level by 500 thousand barrels per day. This decision was made only for January 2021. Decisions on the next months will be made from January 2021 at monthly meetings with OPEC+ ministers, taking into account the current state of the oil market,” the minister said.

The level of obligations for Kazakhstan in January 2021 will be 1.417 million barrels per day instead of 1.397 million barrels at present. The Ministry of Energy, by analogy with previously adopted resolutions, is developing a draft government decree on limiting the production of oil and gas condensate in certain subsoil areas in 2021, on the basis of which amendments are expected to be made to the forecast for oil and gas condensate production in 2021.

During the reporting period, 62.9 million tons of oil were exported, the plan for 11 months of this year was fulfilled by 100%.

In January-November 2020, 50.5 billion cubic meters of gas were produced, which is 100.4% of the plan for the reporting period.

The volume of domestic consumption of commercial gas reached 14.4 billion cubic meters, this figure was fulfilled by 100.8% against the plan for 11 months of this year.

The volume of liquefied petroleum gas production amounted to 2.9 million tons, which corresponds to 110% of the plan for the reporting period. The volume of exported gas amounted to 9.3 billion cubic meters.

According to the results of January-November 2020, 14.4 million tons of oil were processed, this figure corresponds to 102.1% of the plan for January-November, including:

  • the indicator for motor gasoline reached 4.07 million tons, i.e. 103.7 % to the plan for 11 months of the current year;
  • the volume of diesel fuel produced amounted to 4.1 million tons, which amounted to 102.5% to the plan of the reporting period;
  • fuel oil is 1.83 million tons, this volume corresponds to 105% of the plan for January-November;
  • air fuel indicator — 394 thousand tons, i.e. 91.1% of the plan for 11 months of the current year;
  • bitumen production in January-November 2020 amounted to 1.03 million tons, i.e. 107.5% to the plan of the reporting period.

As for oil and gas chemical products, its volume reached 325.5 thousand tons, which exceeded the plan for 11 months of this year, that is, amounted to 105.1%.

During the reporting period, 97.1 billion kWh of electricity was produced, this figure is equal to the plan for 11 months of this year, that is, 100%.

There were no major accidents during the reporting period.

“For 11 months, 18,024.2 tons of uranium were mined, which is 101% of the plan of the reporting month. Achievement of key indicators is under constant control of the Ministry,” Nurlan Nogayev said in conclusion.
