To date, the concept of a bill on the price regulation of medicines in the retail network has already been developed. This was stated by the Minister of Health Yelzhan Birtanov at a press conference following the meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"Tomorrow, we will discuss the concept. First, it will be considered on the public council under the Ministry of Health, then - on the basis of the national chamber of entrepreneurs, in the media. This bill must go through all the cycles of discussion in society. It is planned to send it to the Parliament in the autumn of this year," Y. Birtanov said.

The Ministry of Health plans to adopt the bill before the end of 2017, and from January 1, 2018, fix the maximum prices for all medicines in retail trade.

In addition, as part of the press conference, Y. Birtanov said that the Ministry of Health developed a new model of outpatient drug provision. This model is designed to solve systematically all the problematic issues of free provision of drugs to a privileged category of the population. In accordance with the new model, henceforth a single distributor will be fully responsible for the timely delivery, dispensing and registration of medicines throughout the country.

Tomorrow, at a meeting of the public council under the Ministry of Health, a new model of outpatient drug provision will be considered. Also, a discussion with the business community will be necessary to impelement this.
