Syrym Sharipkhanov

He was born in 1967 in Almaty.

He graduated from the Kazan Higher Military Command and Engineering College, the Civil Defense Academy of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and the adjunct faculty of the same institution, the Kokshe Academy, and the Academy of the State Firefighting Service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

He is a doctor of technical sciences and a major general. 

In different years he held senior positions in the Civil Defense Headquarters of Zhambyl region, the Center for training and education of the Zhambyl Regional Emergency Management, the Republican Center for training and education and the Department of Civil Defense and military units of the Emergency Situations Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From 2002 to 2005, he was deputy head of department of Training and Education Center of Almaty City Department of Emergency Situations of the Emergency Situations Agency.

From 2005 to 2008, he was the head of the department of territory and population protection of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From 2008 to 2010, he was the head of the Civil Defense Department of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the city of Almaty.

From 2010 to 2013, he was deputy chief of the Kokshetau Technical Institute of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From 2013 to 2021, he was the head of the Kokshetau Technical Institute of Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From 2021 to June 2023, he headed the Academy of Civil Protection named after Malik Gabdullin Ministry for Emergency Situations.

On June 10, 2023 by Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan he was appointed Minister for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
