Madina Abylkassymova appointed first vice minister of national economy

By the Decree of the Government of Kazakhstan, Madina Abylkassymova was appointed the first vice minister of national economy of Kazakhstan, the Prime Minister’s press service reports.

Madina Abylkassymova was born in 1978. She graduated from the Kazakh State Academy of Management with a degree in international economic relations, Columbia University with a Master's degree in International Relations with a degree in Economic Policy Management, and a Kennedy School of Public Administration at Harvard University with the degree of Master of Public Administration.

From 1999 to 2001 she was a chief specialist of the Agency of Kazakhstan for strategic planning.

From 2003 to 2004 she was a chief specialist, head of the Strategic Planning Department of the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning.

From 2004 to 2006 she was director of the Department of State Policy Analysis of the Center for Marketing and Analytical Research JSC of the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning.

From 2006 to 2008 she was deputy head of the Socio-Economic Department of the Office of the Prime Minister.

From 2008 to 2011 she was deputy head of the Center for Strategic Research and Analysis of the Administration of the President of Kazakhstan.

From 2011 to 2013 she was vice minister of economic development and trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From 2012 she was deputy governor for Kazakhstan at the World Bank.

From 2013 to 2014 she was vice minister of economy and budget planning of Kazakhstan.

From 2014 to 2018 she was vice minister of national economy.

From February 2018 to February 2019 she was minister of labor and social protection of the population of Kazakhstan.
