Government to introduce complex activities to support car industry - Rau

Complex measures to support car industry will be introduced in Kazakhstan, Vice Minister of Investments and Development Albert Rau has said today at a briefing in the Central Communications Service.

“Today the Government has approved the complex measures, there was instructed to prepare the the plan of activities,” Rau said

He added that the main goal is to produce cars at the local level.

According to the MIR of the RK, from January to September this year in Kazakhstan there were sold over 122 thousand units of new vehicles, last year for the same period there were sold 116 thousand units of cars, the quantitative increase was 5.18%.

The share of imports of new cars from the beginning of 2014 amounted to 79.8%, while the share of the domestic car assembly at the end of September - 20.2%.

Deputy Minister noted that over the past 4 years the volume of production of cars assembled in Kazakhstan increased by 10 times.
