The main events of the week from March 18 to 23, 2019

  • On March 18, Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in the ceremony of laying a stone at the construction site of a new mosque in the capital.
  • President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke at a joint meeting of the Chambers of Parliament of Kazakhstan March 20. In the presence of the First President Nazarbayev, members of the Constitutional Council, judges of the Supreme Court and members of the Government, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took the oath to the people of Kazakhstan. The Prime Minister Askar Mamin attended the joint meeting.
  • Also on Wednesday, the President Tokayev held a meeting with the Prime Minister Askar Mamin. The head of state was informed about the current socio-economic development of the country and the results of the Government’s work for 2 months 2019.
  • Regular meeting of the Government was held March 19 in Ukimet Uyi under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Askar Mamin. The progress in the implementation of the Nurly Zher State Housing Construction Program, the 7-20-25 Program, and measures to improve the regulation of labor relations were reviewed.
  • Prime Minister Mamin met with the Director General of the CITIC Group Corporation in Kazakhstan Sun Yang on March 18 in Ukimet Uyi.
  • The same day, Prime Minister Mamin chaired a meeting of the Council on Economic Policy in Ukimet Uyi.
  • Also on Tuesday, Askar Mamin held a meeting on the implementation of a comprehensive development plan for the North Kazakhstan region.
  • Wednesday, March 19, on behalf of the Head of State, Prime Minister Mamin visited Akmola region. At an extraordinary session of the regional maslikhat, Askar Mamin read a letter from Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev with a proposal to appoint Yermek Marzhikpayev as akim of Akmola region. Maslikhat deputies unanimously supported the candidacy.
  • Wednesday, March 20, Askar Mamin held a meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture on the progress of preparation for spring field work.
  • Saturday, March 23, on the instructions of the President, Prime Minister Mamin visited Almaty region with a working trip. There he inspected the execution of the Head of State’s instructions to ensure readiness for the spring and flood period and implement the structural and institutional reforms voiced in Addresses and the instructions of the First President – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev.
  • As part of his working trip, Askar Mamin visited the observation deck and inspected the progress of projects to protect against mudflow and flood danger on the Khorgos River. Special attention is paid to measures for the prevention and elimination of emergencies.
  • On the Kazakh-Chinese border, the Prime Minister visited the largest in Central Asian checkpoint Nur Zholy and the dry port of the Khorgos – Eastern Gate special economic zone.
  • Visiting the industrial enterprises of the region, Mamin familiarized himself with the work of the Khorgos International Center for Boundary Cooperation and Kazakhstan’s trade facilities located on the territory of the center.
  • In the city of Taldykorgan, Askar Mamin visited social facilities, the city’s multi-profile hospital and residential housing under construction, where familiarized himself with measures taken to increase housing availability in the region and to solve housing problems for those in need.
  • In the regional center, Mamin also visited the Taldykorgan industrial zone, where the implementation of major projects in agriculture, construction, chemical and food industries began.
  • At the end of his working trip, the Prime Minister visited the Entrepreneurs Service Center, where he familiarized himself with the work on the provision of services and the pace of development of SMEs. In addition, projects were presented on the socio-economic development of the city, including tourism, agriculture, the development of the suburb of Almaty.
