The main events of the week from April 22 to 27, 2019.

  • First President – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev chaired the XIX Extraordinary Congress of the Nur Otan Party held April 23, 2019. In accordance with the agenda, the candidature of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was considered for participation in the election of the President of Kazakhstan from the Nur Otan party.
  • The same day a presentation of the plan for further development of Nur-Sultan was held.
  • Wednesday, April 24, Elbasy Nazarbayev met with President of ALSTOM Henri Poupard-Lafarge.
  • Monday the Prime Minister Askar Mamin held a meeting with President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in who arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit.
  • Prime Minister Mamin took part in the Kazakhstan-Korean business forum held April 22 in Nur-Sultan.
  • Also April 22, Prime Minister Mamin chaired a regular meeting of the Government in Ukimet Uyi which considered the issues of attracting investment.
  • Tuesday Prime Minister Mamin held a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban. A wide range of bilateral cooperation was discussed, including prospects for increasing investment cooperation.
  • Wednesday, April 24, the Prime Minister Askar Mamin held a meeting with Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce Doris Bradbury, British Ambassador Michael Gifford, Ambassador of Canada Nicholas Brousseau, Ambassador of the European Union Sven-Olov Carlsson, Charge D'Affaires at the US Embassy in Kazakhstan Theodore Lyng. The issues of increasing investment cooperation and further cooperation within the framework of the new approaches of the Government on the development of an ecosystem to support foreign investors were discussed.
  • The same day Askar Mamin discussed cooperation with representatives of the Royal Dutch Shell concern, headed by the director of the International Exploration and Mining division of the Royal Dutch Shell concern Andy Brown.
  • Thursday, April 25, Prime Minister Mamin visited the Russian Federation. In the framework of the working visit, Mamin held talks with the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev. A wide range of topical issues of bilateral cooperation was discussed at the meeting, a number of documents were signed.
  • Friday, April 26, on behalf of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Prime Minister Mamin visited the Turkistan region to familiarize himself with the execution of Elbasy Nazarbayev’s instructions on the development of Turkistan as a cultural and spiritual center of the Turkic of the world.
  • In the new administrative and business center of the city, the prime minister familiarized himself with the construction of the akimat, offices and departments, the media center, the congress hall, the regional scientific and universal library. He examined the section of Bekzat Sattarkhanov Avenue connecting the city with the entrance gates of the regional center, inspected work on the creation of a green belt around Turkestan, the development of an irrigation system, got acquainted with the plan of the Arys-Turkestan canal, and the construction of Mashnovnoy. The Akimat made a presentation of the projects of the Nazarbayev Center, the park of the First President, the industrial zone and the TURKISTAN free economic zone.
  • Following the results of the inspection, Askar Mamin held a working meeting on the implementation of the Comprehensive Development Plan and the development of Turkistan for 2019-2020.
  • Saturday, April 27, Prime Minister Mamin met with the Director General, Chairman of the Management Board of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov. They discussed issues of cooperation in the transport and logistics sector.
