“Today in Astana I see three positive points in the development of health care. First, I see all the signs of cooperation. The second is digital technology. Third is people who believe in primary health care functions,” said the WHO Director-General.
In addition, he expressed his satisfaction with the personnel training in the country.
“I am very happy to see so many young specialists in Astana who will play a big role in our cooperation in the future. Today we are working on global support and joint activities. These are health care funds,” said Ghebreyesus.
Ghebreyesus called the Global Conference in Astana a significant event in the history of WHO.
“The result of this event is the signing of the Declaration on increasing the availability of medical services. It sets the course for the development of all health systems in general, and also deals with issues of health financing and the strengthening of the primary level,” said the WHO Director-General.
At the same time, he informed that now there is a different life expectancy around the whole world. Some use medical care, and some do not even know the basics. At least half of the population of planet Earth does not have full access to primary health care services. In conclusion, Ghebreyesus stressed that it is necessary to remember that the most important thing in the issue of medicine is not political aspects, but people.
