Minister of Culture and Sports
Arystanbek Mukhamediuly was born on February 11, 1963 in Tuzdybastau village, Talgar district, Almaty region.
In 1986 graduated from the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatoire (as a cellist), in 1997 – National School of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan, in 2001 – finished postgraduate studied at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
In 2003 he defended his thesis on "Kazakhstan – UNESCO: aspects of cultural cooperation", specialty "History of the international relations and foreign policy".
He began his career as performer of the State Symphony Orchestra of the Zhambyl Kazakh State Philharmonic (1984–1991). Then he worked as chief specialist of the Ministry of Culture of Kazakhstan (1991–1993), assistant to the Minister of Culture of Kazakhstan (1993–1994).
From 1994 to 1996 – administrative director of "Gulder" State Ensemble, from 1997 to 2001 – head of the Presidential Orchestra of the Republican Guard of Kazakhstan, from 2001 to 2005 – director general of State Enterprise "Directorate of National and International Cultural Programs" of the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, from 2005 to 2006 – President of JSC "Kazakh Auenderi".
In 2006–2007 A. Mukhamediuly held the position of Vice Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, in 2007–2008 he worked in the Administration of the President of Kazakhstan as chief inspector of social and political department, head of the cultural sector of the department of internal policy.
In April 2008, by the Decree of the President of Kazakhstan he was appointed rector of the Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts.
By the Presidential Decree, A. Mukhamediuly was awarded the honorary title "Honored Person of Kazakhstan" for his high professionalism, letters of thanks of the President of Kazakhstan, commemorative medals "10 years of Kazakhstan Independence", "10 years of Kazakhstan Constitution", and "Astana" medal.
By the Presidential Decree no.766 of 11 March 2014 Arystanbek Mukhamediuly was appointed Minister of Culture of Kazakhstan.
From August 6, 2014 – Minister of Culture and Sport.
