The Code on Subsoil and Subsoil Use takes into account the best world experience in the sphere of environmental safety, Vice Minister for Investments and Development Timur Toktabayev informed about this during the briefing following the meeting of the Government.

According to him, often, opening new deposits and actively participating in the development, subsoil users forget about ecological aspect of their projects and, as a rule, and quarries stay abandoned. After a while, they have to be rebuilt, a lot of money is spent from the state budget, Vice Minister complained. In the draft Code on Subsoil and Subsoil Use this aspect has been given special attention.

“According to the world experience, programs are planned to eliminate the consequences of subsoil use, insurance, formation of the necessary funds to ensure that after extraction, these careers were brought into a safe state for people. In many countries abandoned quarries are turned into a place of tourism, small lakes are made and the territory around is upgraded. This experience will be used in Kazakhstan, if possible. Generally, everything will be done for sefety of people,” – T. Toktabayev noted.
