Round table held to discuss the program "Ruhani zhangyru" in the part of transition of the Kazakh language to the Latin alphabet

III Regional Round Table consisting of a series of expert meetings on discussion of the program “Rukhani zhangyru” regarding the transition of Kazakh language to the Latin alphabet was held today, on September 21 in Aktobe.

The event was organized by the Institute of Eurasian Integration.

The director of the institute Gani Nygymetov addressed the participants of the roundtable with a welcoming speech. He stressed the importance of establishing the work of the executive authorities, the Ruhani Jangyru project office in the dialogue mode, and the constant exchange of opinions and information with the scientific and expert community.

Deputy Head of the Internal Policy Department of the Akimat, Head of the Project Office of Ruhani Jangyru Yermek Tauanov told about the implementation of the program in Aktobe region.

Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and Practical Linguistics of the ARSU after K. Zhubanov Nurbol Saduakas in his speech noted that the transition to the Latin alphabet is timely and meets the new challenges of the era. This position was reflected in the speech of Mukhtar Mirov, Candidate of Philology.

M. Mirov stressed that the transition to Latin graphics is the first step in bringing the language closer to world culture.

Doctor of Philology Sabyrzhan Mukhtarov drew attention to the importance of studying world experience in the reform of the alphabet.

According to the Professor, Doctor of History Nurtaza Abdollayev, the transition to the Latin alphabet is a historic chance for the further development of the nation and the opportunity to disseminate and broadcast the achievements of Kazakhstan in the world.

Based on the results of the round table, recommendations were developed that will be sent to the interested state bodies responsible for the implementation of the program.

The round table was attended by more than 40 representatives of the scientific and expert community of the region, NGOs and LEBs.
