Minister of Energy Kanat Bozumbayev and Minister for Investments and Development Zhenis Kassymbek reported on the progress of the heating season at the Government meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

As the Minister of Energy noted, Kazakhstani consumers are fully provided with electricity and heat energy. The central and local executive bodies carried out the appropriate work to eliminate the shortcomings revealed during the meeting of the Government on September 5, 2017.

"The repairs planned for the current year at power plants have been completed. 8 power units, 57 boilers, 35 turbines, as well as 24 thousand kilometers of power grids have been repaired," said Kanat Bozumbayev.

In general, more than 4.3 million tons of coal and 111,000 tons of fuel oil have been accumulated in the fuel depots of domestic power plants, which corresponds to the approved standards. The volume of coal stock at the boiling stations in the zone of district heating is 792.4 thousand tons (standard - 442.7 thousand tons), fuel oil - 108 thousand tons (standard - 83.6 thousand tons).

"Since the beginning of the autumn-winter period of 2017-2018, the Unified Electric Power System operates without major technological violations," Kanat Bozumbayev said.

The Minister for Investments and Development, Zhenis Kassymbek, in turn reported on the situation of coal transportation. Today in Kazakhstan, the park of open wagons for coal transportation is more than 50 thousand units. Since the beginning of preparation for the heating season, more than 43.5 million tons of coal have been transported, which is 98% of the plan.

"To ensure the full provision of transportation, work has been carried out to conclude direct long-term contracts for the transportation of goods between consignors, consignees and the carrier in an intra-republican message. Equal distribution of coal transport volumes in summer was ensured," said Zhenis Kassymbek.

In the regions, the heating season is also in the normal mode. The akims of the regions and cities of Almaty, Astana reported about the current situation.

Following the consideration of the issue, the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev instructed relevant ministries and local executive bodies to keep the issue of the heating season on constant control.
