Being adopted Expo-2017 technologies should make life cleaner, more efficient and economical — K. Bozumbayev

Today at a briefing on the results of the meeting of the Government of Kazakhstan, the Minister of Energy answered questions from journalists about the implementation of projects presented at the International Specialized Exhibition Expo-2017.

In general, the expert group of the Ministry of Energy selected 105 foreign and 28 domestic technologies presented at the Expo-2017. Akimats reviewed and selected 40 technologies for implementation, national companies — 15.

"Projects that at this stage of development of our economy can be useful in order to make life cleaner, more efficient, more economical, reduce utility costs — they are in demand and should be applied, these are advanced technologies that exist in the world today," said Kanat Bozumbayev, responding to a question about the benefits of projects being implemented.

As examples, the Minister of Energy named technologies for wastewater treatment, smart grids, use of RES in enterprises, storage and processing of solid household waste, creation of geocells, etc.

"We are talking about projects that can be practically applied by local executive bodies and national companies in the sectors that they supervise," the Minister of Energy explained.

Kanat Bozumbayev noted that some of Kazakhstan's technologies were included in the list of selected for introduction into production. It should be noted that foreign companies also express their interest in using Kazakhstan's developments. One of these projects concerns the popular business line of ‘currency mining’ (the search of crypto-currency), in which servers are used.

BitFury, which develops software and hardware for operations in the crypto currency market, has become interested in the project of the Kazakhstani scientist on heat recovery in large computers.

"In large servers, where a lot of heat is lost, there are air conditioning systems. That is, it is necessary to utilize this heat. One of our scientists resolved the issue and BitFury (one of the leaders of the world market for the mining business) became interested in his project and now they are conducting negotiations," the minister said.

The Minister noted that the implementation of the project will be carried out in the next two to three years.

"This process is continuous. We think that the technologies will change quantitatively and expand," Kanat Bozumbayev said.
