The main events of the week from 25 to 30 December 2017.

Last week of the year, in the new Congress Center in the territory of the International Financial Center, a traditional New Year charity ball was held with the participation of the Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Also last week, President of Kyrgyzstan S.Jeenbekov paid an official visit to Kazakhstan. On December 25, N. Nazarbayev held talks with S.Jeenbekov in a narrow and expanded format.

On Tuesday, December 26, B. Sagintayev also met with S. Jeenbekov. Issues of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries were discussed.

On the same day in Ukimet Uyi, the Prime Minister chaired the last meeting of the Government of this year. The agenda included questions on the progress of the heating season, the introduction of technologies presented at Expo-2017, the implementation of Smart City projects, the stabilization of the grain market and the improvement of legislation on currency regulation and currency control. In addition, the results of the execution of the Plan of legislative works of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2017 and the project for 2018 were considered.

On Wednesday, December 27, Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting of the Council on Competitiveness under the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The results of the implementation of the Plan of measures to improve Kazakhstan's indicators in the Global Competitiveness Index of the World Economic Forum for 2017, the update of the Plan for 2018-2019, as well as the issue of the methodology for conducting integrated monitoring and analysis of the country's competitiveness were discussed.

Also last week, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting of the State Commission for Economic Modernization.

On Thursday, December 28, Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting on the presentation of bills in the healthcare and financial system.
