Together with increase in salaries for teachers, new additional payments system to be introduced — B. Assylova

Today, as part of the briefing at the press center of the Government, Vice Minister of Education and Science Bibigul Assylova commented on the issue of increasing teachers' salaries as part of the President's Address "New Development Opportunities in the Conditions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution."

As noted by the Vice Minister, the increase in wages will depend on the transition to the updated content of training programs.

There is an appropriate schedule, which is approved by the state program of education and science until 2019. So, from January 2018, wages will be increased for teachers of the 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 7th grades. Since September, 2018 — to teachers of the 3d, 6th, and 8th grades. From September 2019, salaries will be increased for teachers of the 4th, 9th, and 10th grades. In 2020, the turn will come to teachers of the 11th grade.

The amount of the premium, as the Head of State announced in the Address "New Opportunities for Development in the Conditions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution", will amount to 30% of the official salary.

For example, wages for a city teacher of the first category with 15 years of experience will increase by 24,000 tenge, for the same teacher in the village — by 25,860 tenge. This is for full training load.

In addition, a new system of additional payments that take into account the level of qualification will be introduced for teachers. Categories will be assigned through the national qualification test. Depending on the confirmed qualification, the surcharge will vary from 20% to 50%.

For example, the extra payment of a teacher with 15 years of experience and the first category in the case of confirmation of qualification at a higher level will be 28,000 tenge at the city level and 36,000 tenge at the village level.

As for specialists without a category and with experience of 3 years, the salary of which is 56 000 tenge, according to the Vice Minister, there are a number of extra charges and additional payments (for checking notebooks, managing offices, etc.). So, the premium for the updated content will be 16 000 tenge at the city level and 21 000 tenge at the village level. In this scenario, the average salary of such a specialist will be about 96,000 tenge in the city and 115,000 tenge in the village.

"I think there is an incentive to get this extra charge. And if this specialist also passes the qualification test, his salary will increase significantly," Bibigul Assylova summed up.
