Over 86 million tons of oil produced in Kazakhstan in 2017 — K. Bozumbayev

Minister of Energy Kanat Bozumbayev told about the results of development of the country's energy sector in 2017 and the plans of the ministry for 2018 at a briefing in the press center of the Government.

According to the minister, over 86 million tons of oil was produced in Kazakhstan last year, which is 102% of the production plan. At the same time, about 70 million tons was exported. Almost 15 million tons of oil was processed at domestic refineries. A modernization project was implemented at the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant, the construction of modernization projects for the Atyrau Oil Refinery has been completed, and the plant is currently undergoing commissioning.

The volume of gas production was about 53 billion m3 or 110% of the plan. At the end of 2017, the level of gasification is 47.38%. In the current year, 16 projects will be implemented, the gasification level will be more than 48%. In 2017, 102.3 billion kWh of electricity was generated. 106.7 million tons of coal was extracted.

"2017, we can say, was a record year in terms of performance for the fuel and energy sector. And the task of 2018 for the ministry is to keep the given rate of growth and stimulate the industry for further development," K. Bozumbayev emphasized.
