Annual increase in housing provision should be at the level of 10% — Bakytzhan Sagintayev

Today at the meeting of the Government chaired by the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev, the results of the first year of implementation of the Nurly Zher Housing Construction Program were summed up.

According to the Minister for Investments and Development, Zhenis Kassymbek, the total housing construction for the annual plan of the Program is 111% complete. In total, 100.8 thousand dwellings were built.

Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev noted that the first year of the Nurly Zher state program’s implementation gave good results. Similar indicators were not observed for 26 years of Independence of Kazakhstan.

"For the first time in the history of the state, more than 11 million square meters of housing have been introduced. This was achieved due to the State Program initiated by the Head of State," Bakytzhan Sagintayev said.

The Prime Minister stressed that the problems with statistics, untimely delivery of acts of reception and transmission, etc. are inexplicable for the population — this falls within the competence of state bodies.

"I think that this year we will not allow such errors in our work. Especially in this year's Address, the Head of State said that by 2030 we should reach the statistics of up to 30 m2 (one house) per person, and this requires up to 10% growth annually," Bakytzhan Sagintayev noted.

Thus, in 2018, the indicators of the implementation of the Nurly Zher state program should exceed the current volumes by one million square meters of housing.

"Dear colleagues, I ask you to gather, and this year to finish also at a high level and fulfill all the instructions of the Head of our state," the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev summed up.
