New educational and laboratory building of Kozybayev University to be open in September

As part of a working visit to North Kazakhstan region, Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov visited the new educational and laboratory building of Kozybayev University.

The new building includes 70 laboratories for engineering, medicine, natural and agricultural sciences. Construction work is currently being completed and students will begin the academic year in the new building in September.

"We have installed the best teaching and science equipment here. Students will be able to conduct practical experiments and scientific experiments. All these measures are aimed at improving the quality of higher education in our regional university," Kumar Aksakalov noted.

This year the University of Arizona has accepted 170 students for international programs, 50 of whom will study for a dual degree program.

"Under the cooperation memorandum, the first admission campaign was held for the double degree program of Kozybayev University and the University of Arizona. The program provides for the students to study in the last semester at the main university in the USA. This opens up great opportunities for young people. University graduates will be competitive and accordingly will be able to apply for good working conditions and a high level of salary immediately after graduation" Yeraly Tugzhanov noted.

Education in the international educational programs will be provided in three languages including English, Kazakh and Russian. The main directions are IT, engineering, and agriculture. Training will be carried out in strict compliance with the state standard of higher education.

At Kozybayev University, lectures will be given by Kazakhstani professors, including graduates of the Bolashak program, as well as professors from the United States.

The project of implementing the program of double-diploma training will allow raising the brand of Kozybayev University to a new level, creating an opportunity to receive international education without leaving the region, as well as reduce the outflow of young people from the region and the country as a whole.

In general, there are positive changes in the sphere of education in North-Kazakhstan region. For 5 years the outflow of graduates decreased twice, from 30% to 16%. This year 2,2 thousand graduates from the region entered the domestic universities, 64% of them will study due to grants, which is the highest index for the last 5 years.
