The meeting of the Board of Directors of JSC "National Management Holding "Baiterek" was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov.

The meeting presented information on the fulfilment of the requirements of the Investment Policy for 2023. Subsidiaries of the holding supported enterprises of non-primary sectors of the economy for a total of 2.8 trillion tenge, which is 45% more than in the previous year. More than 71,000 companies and organisations that do not belong to quasi-public sector entities were supported to the tune of 2.5 trillion tenge. The total amount of financing in the sphere of agro-industrial complex for 2023 was 665.2 billion tenge. Thanks to the holding's support measures, more than 6,000 new jobs were created, products and services worth 3.8 trillion tenge were produced.

After hearing the reports, the Head of the Government noted that it is necessary to revise the rules of purchases of "Baiterek" as soon as possible in the direction of radically increasing the share of domestic goods.

In addition, enterprises receiving state support should constantly increase in-country value.

"We, through the holding "Baiterek" and our other development institutions, direct large funds to support promising enterprises and sectors of the economy. At the same time, the red thread everywhere should be the increase of intra-country value. If we support an entrepreneur, he must assume counter obligations - to establish in Kazakhstan the production of goods that he is now importing, to increase labour productivity and wages of employees, to attract as subcontractors and suppliers of Kazakh enterprises," Olzhas Bektenov said.

Prime Minister said that currently the Government is preparing a set of measures to increase in-country value and development of domestic production.
