By the Decree of the Government, Yerzhan Zhilkibayev was appointed vice minister of labor and social protection of the population, the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reports.
Zhilkibayev was born in 1982 in the Lenger town of the Tolebi district of the South Kazakhstan region. He graduated from the South Kazakhstan University, Academy of Public Administration under the President of Kazakhstan, Amanzholov East Kazakhstan State University.
He began his career as a chief specialist of the Department of Economics of the South Kazakhstan Region in 2003. In 2006, he was appointed chief expert of the Office of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
In 2007, he worked as head of the Department of Economics and Budget Planning at the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning. In 2009-2011 he was deputy chief of staff of the East Kazakhstan region. In 2011-2012 he was deputy akim of Semey.
In 2012-2015, he was head of the Administration of the Akim of the East Kazakhstan region.
In 2015-2016, he was state inspector of the Department of State Control and Organizational and Territorial Work of the Administration of the President.
From May 2016 he has served as akim of Medeu district of Almaty.
