A. Mamin: Kazakhstan strives to become a bridge between Europe and Asia — we build roads and open transport corridors

At the first international roundtable "Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable", dedicated to the issues of investing in the economy of Kazakhstan, a panel session was held with the participation of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin on the topic: "Private investments in infrastructure of Kazakhstan: growth incentives".

As noted by the moderator, Daniel Salter, head of equity strategy at Renaissance Capital, due to its location in the heart of the land bridge being built between Europe and Asia, as well as participation in regional integration processes, Kazakhstan is developing its economic potential.

The expanding role of the country in the world economic system makes its industrial and transport infrastructure attractive for investments.

"Kazakhstan opens new directions for foreign investors and counts on their experience and opportunities," Daniel Salter said.

In his speech Askar Mamin noted that in our country, special attention is paid to the issue of attracting investments. So, over the years of the country's independence, more than $300 billion of private investments were attracted into the economy.

"Kazakhstan is striving to become a bridge between the continents. For this purpose, the infrastructure of the airports and seaport of Aktau have been updated. We build roads and open transport corridors. By 2020, through the territory of Kazakhstan, up to 2 million containers will be forwarded annually," the First Deputy Prime Minister said.

Askar Mamin also spoke about the implementation of major projects on the principle of public-private partnership. One of the most striking examples of PPP is the construction of the Khorgos dry port, joint projects with foreign private investors for road construction projects.

"Infrastructure projects are the priority," the First Deputy Prime Minister said. "We must make greater use of the best world experience." Summing up the discussion, A. Mamin called on the participants of the panel session to invest in the economy of Kazakhstan.
