Askar Zhumagaliyev held a number of meetings and got acquainted with digitalization projects in Estonia

March 28-29, Kazakhstan delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister, Askar Zhumagaliyev, visited the Republic of Estonia.

During the trip, the delegation held a number of meetings and got acquainted with the objects on which digital solutions are applied.

The delegation met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia, Jüri Ratas, and the Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications of Estonia, Kadri Simson. The parties discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation on digitalization projects.

During the meeting with the Minister of Interior of Estonia, Andres Anvelt, the Estonian side spoke about the features of the electronic residence, the advantages of the population register, digital solutions in the traffic police.

Representatives of Estonia shared their experience of introducing electronic visas and ID-cards. It is known that 98% of Estonians use ID-cards to work with digital services. More than 30 thousand e-residents of the country use electronic services, sign contracts, have access to financial services and management of their company.

The delegation considered the experience in implementing the X-Road project, which is a system of exchange and interrelations between public and private sectors to support the country's electronic services. The system of electronic taxation in Estonia allows citizens to make automatic calculations and one-click file a tax return.

After that the Kazakh delegation visited the Tallinn IT College, where they got acquainted with the model of training and retraining of personnel. Estonia pays special attention to changing the mentality of personnel, which will work in a digital production environment. The delegation also evaluated the experience of Estonia in digitizing the health system and methods for improving the effectiveness of medicine after the introduction of digital technologies.

As part of a busy travel program, the Kazakh delegation got acquainted with e-government projects, held meetings with representatives of Estonian state bodies and captains of IT business in Estonia.
