New demonopolization measures for petroleum products production and air transportation to be adopted in Kazakhstan

Proposals for the implementation of new antimonopoly measures in the production of petroleum products and in the market of passenger air transportation were considered at a meeting of the Economic Demonopolization Commission.

Thus, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov the issues of returning the key functions of technical service at one of the refineries from outsourcing to the enterprise itself were discussed. This will eliminate unnecessary intermediaries from performing these services.

In addition, the meeting participants considered measures in the field of passenger air travel, which would eliminate the possibility of unreasonable increases of ticket prices due to gaps in legislation.

Following the discussion, the Prime Minister instructed the authorized government agencies to take all necessary measures to implement the approved decisions.
