Today in Ukimet Uyі, the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev chaired a meeting on the issues of civil aviation development with the participation of the heads of major national airlines.
Within the framework of the meeting, the issues of improving the efficiency of state regulation of air transportation to increase the attractiveness of air transit through Kazakhstan within the framework of the implementation of the 68th Step of the Plan of the Nation "100 Specific Steps," further improving the safety of flights and the quality of training of domestic personnel were considered.
In general, the current state of development of the civil aviation industry was reported by the Minister for Investments and Development, Zh. Kassymbek.
According to the MID RK, the growth rate of passenger traffic for 2017 was 23%. In terms of compliance with ICAO safety requirements, Kazakhstan ranks second among the CIS countries.
In terms of infrastructure development, work has been completed on the reconstruction of 15 runways and 11 terminals.
Minister of Energy K. Bozumbayev, Governor of Astana International Financial Center, K. Kelimbetov, Executive Director for Planning of Air Astana JSC, A. Aliguzhina, President of SCAT Airline JSC, V. Denisov, Chairman of the Board of Qazaq Air JSC, A. Blair, General Director of Bek Air JSC, S. Omarzhanov and others spoke during the meeting.
Following the discussion, Bakytzhan Sagintayev instructed the Ministry for Investments and Development, together with interested state bodies and national companies, to form a working group and develop comprehensive programs for the development of large and small aircraft.
