Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev, in the course of his working trip to the South-Kazakhstan region, visited the first Kazakh enterprise in the southern region for the production of steel blooms — Shymkent Temir — in the territory of Ontustyk industrial zone.
At the facility, the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev was presented with the main production cycles of the enterprise. According to General Director of Shymkent Temir LLP, B. Alteyev, 40-ton induction furnaces and three-strand continuous casting machine (CCM) are used at the plant.
The project is implemented within the framework of the State Program of Industrial and Innovative Development for 2015-2019 and will be put into operation in April this year. 100% of the production is planned to be exported to the countries of the near abroad.
In addition, deputy akim of the region, B. Zhamalov, presented plans for the implementation of 20 projects within the framework of the Industrialization Map.
For reference: Shymkent Temir LLP project attracted 4.85 billion tenge of investment, and provides for the creation of 150 permanent jobs. The design capacity of the enterprise is 240 thousand tons of bloom per year. It is planned to produce steel blooms in the form of ingots, ready for further processing into any kind of metallurgical products.
