Bakytzhan Sagintayev meets with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan, Ichiro Kawabata

Today in Ukimet Uyi, the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Kazakhstan, Ichiro Kawabata.

During the meeting, issues of the current state and expansion of perspective directions of trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian, as well as military-technical cooperation between Kazakhstan and Japan were discussed.

For reference: In 2016, mutual trade between the countries amounted to $1.1 billion (exports—$558.6 million, imports—$552.9 million). For January-June of 2017 this figure amounted to $769.1 million (exports—565 million, imports—203.8 million).

Total inflow of Japanese investments in Kazakhstan for the last 10 years exceeded $6.3 billion. Following the results of 2016, direct investments amounted to $470 million.

In Kazakhstan, more than 70 enterprises with participation of Japanese capital, function, which are engaged in such spheres, as oil and gas, metallurgy, finance, mining industry, car wholesale, telecommunication, equipment wholesale, logging and logistics.
