Today in Ukimet Uyi the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alexey Borodavkin.
During the meeting, issues of bilateral and integration cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia, interregional and cross-border collaboration, expansion of partnership in trade, economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres were discussed.
Bakytzhan Sagintayev congratulated Alexei Borodavkin on accession to the office of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, wished him success and achievements at this high and responsible post and expressed confidence that the appointment will serve to the strengthening and development of Kazakh-Russian cooperation.
For reference: Russia traditionally holds a leading position among Kazakhstan's trade partners (20.6% in Kazakhstan's foreign trade turnover). At the end of 2017, the trade reached $16 billion, an increase of more than 25.6% compared to 2016. In January-February 2018, trade turnover amounted to $2.4 billion, which is 4.7% higher than in the same period last year ($2.3 billion). Exports from Kazakhstan to Russia in January-February 2018 increased by 6.6% and amounted to $737.3 million. Imports to Kazakhstan from the Russia in January-February 2018 grew by 3.9% to $1.7 billion.
