Today the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev met with Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov.

During the meeting, issues of further development of bilateral cooperation, including in the field of providing technical assistance, unifying railway tariffs, and easing migration requirements for citizens were discussed.

The parties noted significant progress in the development of the Integrated Program of Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for 2017-2020, which should become the Roadmap for the development and strengthening of mutually beneficial relations and strategic partnership between the countries for the near future.

Also, the Prime Ministers assessed the level of readiness of the parties to sign the Treaty on the demarcation of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz state border.

In addition, the themes of interaction between the two countries in regional organizations were raised, including within the framework of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States.

At the same time, B. Sagintayev and S. Jeenbekov discussed the process of holding the EXPO-2017 exhibition in Astana and the National Day of Kyrgyzstan, upcoming at the end of August this year.

At the end of the meeting, Bakytzhan Sagintayev invited Kyrgyzstan to take an active part in the OIC Summit on Science and Technology, which will be the end of the international exhibition.

Foreign trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for January-May 2017 was $272.3 million, which is 38.4% higher than in the same period of the previous year.

Exports from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan in January-May 2017 increased by more than 38% and amounted to $180.6 million.

As of July 1, 2017, there were 1287 legal entities, branches and representative offices with Kyrgyz participation registered in Kazakhstan.
