Eurasian Economic Union activities to be strictly economic — Alikhan Smailov

Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov held a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Mikhail Myasnikovich, on the eve of the EEU meeting in Almaty.

The parties discussed further removal of barriers within the EEU, strengthening the scientific approach to the implementation of previously adopted strategic documents, as well as the Commission's activities on the blocks of trade and technical regulation.

According to Alikhan Smailov, Kazakhstan invariably proceeds from the understanding that the EEU activities should have a purely economic orientation.

"All our decisions should be based on economic pragmatism," the Prime Minister said.

In turn, Mikhail Myasnikovich said that the good indicators of the social and economic development of Kazakhstan create favourable conditions for further expansion of mutual trade with the EEU countries.
